Bitcoin slips under $80,000 as traders de-risk ahead of Fed meeting

TITLE: Bitcoin slips under $80,000 as traders de-risk ahead of Fed meeting

Bitcoin dropped below the $80,000 threshold during Monday morning trading hours in Asia. The leading cryptocurrency fell nearly 2 percent to reach approximately $79,800 as investors pulled back from risky assets. This downward movement comes as the global financial market prepares for the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting scheduled for Wednesday.

Selling Hits Major Crypto Tokens

The bearish trend was not limited to Bitcoin, as selling pressure impacted almost every major digital token. Ether saw a decline of nearly 3 percent, bringing its price to just above $2,300. XRP also dropped about 3 percent to trade at $1.
